After the diagnostic inventory (Term 1 2006) was examined the school staff, in a series of meetings, examined the results carefully using the Research Based Framework as a guide. An outcome of these meetings was the formulation of the school report card in which areas of success and areas that provide challenge were identified. The school report is as follows:
Areas of Success: Our school is/has • Values place of learning • Supportive caring school environment • Pleasing & well-maintained school environment • Approachable staff • Sound student achievement in the 3Rs • Sound curriculum linked to real life applications • Effective teaching learning and assessment practices • Use of technology • High staff morale & positive relationships • Professional, knowledgeable teachers • Strong teacher leadership
Areas that provide Challenges: • Developing a unifying shared vision based on community values that sets the future direction of the school • An agreed upon approach to teaching and learning to strengthen student engagement • Enhancing shared decision making and leadership across the whole school community • Further extend the integration of technology and learning practices
