Tent Hill Lower State School

Why we joined IDEAS PDF Print E-mail

In 2006 our school became a participant in the IDEAS programme.

IDEAS stands for Innovative Designs for Enhancing Achievements in Schools. It is a comprehensive approach to school revitalisation that provides a means for aligning and enhancing successful teaching and learning practices that will lead towards improved student outcomes through whole school programming.

IDEAS has been developed by the Leadership Research Institute Team at the University of Southern Queensland.

The IDEAS process was chosen by our school for the following reasons:
* The increase in enrolments had resulted in several changes in the school – the number of teachers, classrooms and teaching programme had all been impacted on.
* There was no clear vision that the school could use as a guide for future direction
* There was a need for the development of a comprehensive and cohesive school wide approach to teaching and learning that would help achieve better outcomes for the students.
