Smart Moves programTent Hill Lower S.S. has implemented a daily Smart Moves program which offers 30 minutes of daily fitness to students. All students begin the day with a daily fitness run at 8.45 am. Later in the day another 15 minutes of skills based activity or game is included as part of the program. Smart Moves has been implemented by Education Queensland as part of a healthy living program. School SportTent Hill Lower S.S. offers a full range of sporting opportunities for students. Our school forms part of the Caffey Small schools cluster. Students participate in a number of sporting carnivals forming teams with their peers from other small schools. This enables students to be involved in local sports carnivals for either participation or selection purposes. Students may at times qualify for selection and continue on to Lockyer Zone and then Darling Downs Regional selection trials. A calendar of carnivals and selection trials is available at the school. Students are also involved in interschool sport and a school based program. Interschool sports are played against Grantham, Murphy’s creek and Flagstone Creek schools’, usually in Term 2. Each year the school is involved in the Lockyer Small schools Athletics sports carnival. This is usually held in term 3 at the Ropehill Sports grounds. SwimmingA school swimming program also operates. Students are transported by bus to the Gatton pool where professional coaches are employed to instruct. The Lockyer Small schools swimming carnival is held in Term 4. |
