Successes

  • Staff and parents agree that high quality learning environments foster good teaching and learning
  • School environment is pleasing and well maintained
  •  Parents are happy with the use of computers in the classroom
  • Parents and students are happy that the curriculum reflects the needs of the students

Concerns

  •  Staff see that there is room for improvement in the areas of technology now that our hardware has been upgraded
  • Staff has some issues with using technology in a purposeful way for the following reasons:
    1. time needed to learn – more staff skilling
    2. trouble shooting technological problems
    3. development of basic computer skills (students)
    4. students don’t see computers as work tools
    5. what should students know by the end of Yr 7 (high school expectations)
    6. list of core skills for students
  •  Staff acknowledge they are concerned about access to special support but this is underpinned by district funding issues
